+ DEAR MADNESS

Installation presented in 2017 at Galerie Janine Rubeiz in Beirut.

With most of my work being embryonically linked to the Lebanese Civil War I decided in Dear Madness to tackle amore actual part of Lebanon’s history. With the assassination of Prime Minister Rafik Hariri in 2005 the Lebanese were reminded that death and destruction were still the driving force behind their history. Dear Madness was thus a construction aiming to create a narrative encompassing all the resurgences of violence that have taken place in Lebanon throughout the years 2005 and 2006. The initial form of the project is a novel, which was then transcribed into space through a set of installations. Viewers were then invited to immerse themselves into the texts, the images and the sculptures as they informed into each other.
